Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026. SubSplit is in beta and these terms will be expanded as the product grows — questions in the meantime go to hello@getsubsplit.com.

This is a beta-stage summary, not a substitute for legal advice. SubSplit moves money between users through Stripe Connect and links bank accounts through Plaid; the legal positioning described below is under ongoing review as those features leave beta.

Using SubSplit

SubSplit helps groups track shared subscriptions and settle up. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you add to a group and for any payments you initiate — SubSplit facilitates splits and reminders, it doesn't guarantee any group member will pay.

Payments

In-app payments are processed by Stripe and carry a 2.5% processing fee, shown before you confirm any payment. Funds move through Stripe Connect directly between group members; SubSplit does not hold your money. We believe this structure means SubSplit itself is not a money transmitter, but this is not a legal conclusion you should rely on — we're confirming it with counsel as in-app payments scale.

Bank account linking

Linking a bank account via Plaid is optional and used only to detect recurring charges for your review — SubSplit never creates a subscription from a linked account without your confirmation. You can unlink an account at any time.

Plans and billing

Free includes unlimited groups with manual tracking and automatic splits. Pro is $4.99/month and can be cancelled at any time from your account's billing settings; you'll retain Pro features through the end of the current billing period.

Beta status

SubSplit is under active development. Features may change, and we'll do our best to give notice of anything that affects your data or your group's billing.
